KPC Church Officer Election

May 2011

The following is a copy of the information mailed to KPC members on May 4, 2011.

The Election Administrators request that you nominate godly people to the offices of Elder, Deacon, and Trustee. At this time, we need to elect 4 Elders and 10 Deacons.  These officers will serve three-year terms, which will begin in August 2011.

Click for a current list of Elders, Deacons, and Trustees showing when their terms of office end (PDF). This list also shows which officers are eligible for nomination to a second term.

We ask you to consider the qualifications of these officers as described in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1 and to sincerely pray before making a nomination. A description of the qualifications and general duties of officers found in the EPC Book of Order.

Still further, given that we are a charismatic church, the Session (Elders and Pastors) requires that nominees have a clear testimony of having received the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit. In addition, within the recent past, the Session's conscience has become bound by Scripture that only men be considered and nominated for the office of Elder. Printed copies of these papers are available in the wall-mounted literature rack near the Fellowship Hall.

Please ask your nominee for permissionbefore returning the enclosed form to the Election Administrators by May 31, 2011.  NOMINATE NOW, as nominations are not accepted from the floor (per established KPC policy) at the election meeting. Download a copy of the Nomination Form (PDF).

Training will be held for all nominees during the first three Sundays in June.  The election will be held at a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, June 26. If a run-off election is necessary, it will be held at a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, July 3.  Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this most important annual event in the life of our church. Should you have any questions, please give any of us a call.

In Christ,

  Bill Jenkins 855-5115
  Catherine Cooney 428-2209
  Pete Haglich 467-4136
