Fall Connect 2011

title 4

With only the Lord's leading, team members responded to the call with obedient hearts. Bags packed and excitement in the air, they were handed their boarding passes only after arriving at Norfolk Int'l Airport.

Destination revealed:

Bethel Church, Redding California.

And so began an adventure that significantly transformed the lives of each individual on that trip, as they, in turn, connected with others.

One team leader puts it this way: "At Bethel, we were reminded that God is who He says He is, and we are who He says we are. Boldness settled in our spirits, and we started to walk confidently in the truth and give the Holy Spirit opportunity to move freely in and through us. We were taught, and then immediately activated what we were taught."

For instance, 16-year-old Alec approached a group of total strangers, asked if anyone needed healing, and then witnessed with others a young man's leg grow to normal length in response to prayer. Kate's horrific eyesight, an issue since childhood, was corrected and restored as the team prayed. (Goodbye coke-bottle glasses!) Heather had massive swelling in an infected tooth, but the team prayed the goodness of God over her and watched the swelling disappear. Two others gave their hearts to Jesus, their precious lives saved.

The lessons learned were monumental: physical, emotional, and spiritual rescue is our God's specialty! And, it can be natural for a Christian to be supernatural! The big question is what's next? Leading the charge with two immediate opportunities, the team offers these follow-up events:

1. "Treasure Hunts" are a great tool for outreach. Small groups ask for words of knowledge (clues from God through prayer) to find treasures (people) who need an encounter with God through an encouraging prophetic word or healing. They then go out into the community to find them and release the goodness of God through prayer.

2. "Firestarters" is a 12-week course where individuals are coached into a supernatural lifestyle.

Firestarters: "Pursuing Passion, Purpose, and Power"
Starting Tuesday, September 20
Time/Location: 7PM in the Youth Lounge
Facilitators: Kate Chiricosta and Roy Mangum.

"A Supernatural Mystery Trip," is found in our Fall issue of Connect, a quarterly publication that seeks to share the stories of God's people at KPC.
