God's Heart For The Unborn

According to the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater, there is ONE ABORTION FOR EVERY TWO LIVE BIRTHS in South Hampton Roads.

On average there are 9,000 abortions performed each year in South Hampton Roads.

Over 1.3 million abortions are performed annually throughout the United States.

By age 20, 1 in 7 women have had at least one abortion; by age 45, 4 in 10 have done so.

Sunday, January 17, 2010 —Pastor Nate Atwood shared God’s heart for “Restoration” regarding women, their babies, and the pro-life movement. During his message, Nate interviewed Shani, a young mom who recently made the decision to keep her baby because of KPC/Life Ministries outreach. Meet her, as well as two other moms who share their stories in video fashion, by watching or listening to Nate’s message.

KPC stood for life and prayer at a local abortion clinic.

We’re aware that women headed towards an abortion often feel they have run out of options. Many have told us they are open to carrying their babies to term but lack the money, the support, or the mentoring necessary to do so. They felt that abortion was their only alternative.

“God has another way” was at the heart of our presence. We were there with God’s simple message that He cares for them and their unborn children. We brought a pro-life message built around the love of God, knowing that ít is “the kindness of God that leads us to repentance.”  (Romans 2:4).

To make an appeal to their consciences, we handed out literature describing what an abortion really is and does, but we also let them know we would help--help with medical care, finances, childcare, and transportation. That we would help mentor and encourage them—and that we were willing to adopt their children.

We were also there to pray, as it is ultimately God’s Spirit who penetrates and softens the hearts and minds of these women (and of the men in their lives).

We will bring the same pro-life message again on Saturday, April 17 from 10 a.m. until noon. We hope you’ll join us.
