Short-Term Missions Trips

Haiti Well Project

On October 20, KPC's Steve Gray, Michael Moore, and Mike Karslake left on a one-week mission to oversee the first-stage installation of a much-needed well in Fonds Dieu, Haiti.

The team has been working for months with our KPC supported workers, Pastor Lamartine and Patricia Liberus, who minister regularly in six area villages and orphanages.

The village where the well was dug is below sea level, and the water there has a strong saline content, making it difficult to use for any purpose.  The well will bring fresh water to this village for the very first time.   After a few minor construction details over the next several weeks, the well will be ready for hand-pumping!

While the team was there, they also delivered solar-powered audio Bibles in the Creole language as well as some specialized items for Pastor Lamartine and Patricia. Team leader Steve Gray says it best, “This was really a foundational event for the Holy Spirit to begin moving in the village.”

We’re so grateful as a church to be able to touch the lives of the Haitian people in such a tangible way.  The team is looking forward to returning in 2012 to reconnect with and minister to those in this village with the love of Jesus.

There is much need there and a great opportunity to minister to the children as well.  As we help fulfill practical needs, we believe the Lord will touch the hearts of the people and begin to transform them and their community for Christ.
