A Prayer Guide for April 3, 2010

Ten Prayer Requests

Below are ten prayer requests Pastor Nate is asking us to pray – together – on Saturday, April 3.  This is the day after Good Friday, the day before Easter Sunday.  It’s an appropriate day to especially pray because the disciples must have been crying out to God, having seen Jesus crucified the day before.  And what happened?  Christ was raised from the dead!  God looked at the great need . . . and responded in a huge way!

  1.

Father, give all of KPC a deep spiritual thirst for You.  (Psalm 42:1-2)

  2.

Father, cause us to love Your Holy Word (Psalm 119:14-16)  And ,Father, prosper Your Word as it is preached, taught, prayed, and shared in the life of the congregation and with those who do not yet know You.  (Isaiah 55:10-11)

  3.

Father, pour down your Holy Spirit on the church and so empower us for ministry (Acts 1:8)

  4.

Father, cause our hearts to be broken for those distant from You (Matthew 9:36).  Draw unbelievers into our midst and open their eyes that they might see Christ as Savior.  Make us sensitive to every person You put around us, viewing them as a person loved by You and in need of Christ Himself (Romans 1:13, 16).

  5.

Father, form in us the character of Christ (Galatians 4:19) and so fill us with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22).  Grant that we would equally love holiness (Psalm 119:11) and forgiveness (Luke 11:4) and so evidence the humility, justice, and mercy of God.

  6.

Father, today we especially pray for all at KPC who hurt and are lonely or are in need of any kind.  We pray for our widows and widowers, comfort them.  We pray for the sick and ask that your heal them, and for the oppressed that you would free them.  We cry out for those who struggle with their faith, asking that You would reveal Yourself to them.  We lift up any who are discouraged today, comfort them.  We pray for those who feel themselves overwhelmed or weak, let them find their strength in God.  We pray for those in financial need, provide we pray.  Heal broken relationship we pray, pour out grace and forgiveness where it needed.  Remind those who have wandered away or wandered into sin that with You there is grace, forgiveness, redemption, and restoration

  7.

Father, anoint and provide for the many ministries of KPC (counseling, life groups, children and youth, international missions, our missionaries, community service and outreach, prayer and worship gatherings, pastoral care,  retreats, media, administration . . . and those particularly in your heart to pray for).  Remind us that we are all ministers, called and gifted to serve You and so to value the contributions that each of us make to the church and her ministry.  (1 Corinthians 12)  Cause us, O Lord, to be fruitful in all we do (John 15:4) and so bring honor to You, making Your Name still more famous and noteworthy

  8.

Give us great joy as we worship together . . . and daily cause us to be worshippers of You in our individual lives (Psalm 100:1-5).  Cause us to be quick to see your many blessings and to give You thanks (Psalm 19:1-6).

  9.

Grant Lord that we would always treasure unity in the church, and actively work towards it.  Give us great humility as we relate to one another, and speak to or about one another.  Remind us that unity is one of the keys to effectiveness in the church.  Grant that we would only speak well of one another (Ephesians 4:1-6) and so actively welcome the Spirit of peace.

  10.

Ever increasingly open our eyes to see how great You are, how much you love us and others, how amazing your work is in the church and in this world, and how we have an overwhelming hope in heaven.  Let us – as a church - passionately love you in response for all You are and do (Ephesians 1:15-22) and give us ever increasing faith as a church so that our trust in You may be constantly growing (Ephesians 3:14-21).
